Sitter Session

That stage when your baby starts laughing, sitting proudly, and showing off those irresistible little rolls… it’s one of the sweetest phases — and one that passes far too quickly.

Before you know it, they’re one. Crawling, standing, and suddenly starting to look like a toddler.

A sitter session is designed to preserve this precious milestone, before those soft baby features fade. The ideal time to book is between 6–9 months, when your baby can sit confidently on their own for around a minute, but isn’t yet on the move.

My role isn’t just to create beautiful images — it’s to take the pressure off you completely. From the moment you book, I guide you through every step, so there’s no overwhelm, no guesswork, and no endless decisions.

This is a calm, considered experience designed around your baby, your home, and how you actually want to enjoy your portraits — now and for years to come.

How Are You Going to Use Your Portraits?

Before we take a single photograph, we talk about how you’d like to use your sitter portraits.

This session is about more than capturing a beautiful stage — it’s about creating artwork that fits effortlessly into your home and your family’s story. From the very beginning, we think beyond the session itself and plan where your images will live. Whether that’s walls that feel unfinished, shelves waiting for framed prints, or spaces that deserve something meaningful, these details guide every decision we make.

If you’ve previously had a newborn session with me, this is where everything comes together. We’ll design your sitter portraits to complement the artwork you already have — extending a gallery wall, creating flow across rooms, or building a cohesive collection over time. Your sitter session becomes the next chapter, not a standalone moment.

We’ll also consider purpose. Are these portraits for your own home, or thoughtfully created as gifts? Sitter images are especially loved by grandparents and make beautiful keepsakes for birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s Day, or Father’s Day. Once we know who they’re for, we can design your session with intention.

This approach ensures nothing is rushed, wasted, or forgotten. Every image is created for a reason.

Gone are the days of paying for photos that sit on your phone or disappear into a digital folder. With me, you leave with finished artwork — printed, framed, and ready to enjoy. No stress. No last-minute frame shopping. No added mental load.

This is a fully guided, stress-free experience for busy mums who want more than just a photoshoot. You’ll walk away with portraits you love, artwork you’ll actually use, and the confidence of knowing everything has been thoughtfully taken care of — from the very beginning.

Your Investment

When you book a sitter session with me, your experience is thoughtfully split into two simple stages. This allows you to relax, enjoy the process, and make confident decisions once you’ve seen your finished portraits.

1. Session Fee — £99

The session fee secures your place in my studio and covers the time, care, and expertise that go into creating your sitter portraits.

  • Paid at the time of booking

  • Non-refundable, as it reserves your session date and my availability

The best time to book your sitter session is when your baby is around 4–5 months old, even though the session itself will take place a little later. This ensures availability during this popular stage.

The recommended age for a sitter session is typically between 6–9 months, once your baby can sit confidently on their own but isn’t yet crawling. This window allows us to capture beautiful expressions, interaction, and those irresistible chubby details — all in a relaxed, baby-led way.

If your baby is developing slightly earlier or later, don’t worry — we’ll plan your session around your baby and choose the perfect time together.

2. Portrait Collections & Artwork

This is where you choose the images and products you love.

It is due two weeks after your sitter session, we'll arrange a google meets call to view your online gallery, select your portrait collection and any artwork from the comfort of your own home. This guided viewing means you’re supported through every decision, so nothing feels overwhelming or rushed.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should we book a sitter session?

Sitter sessions are best booked 6–8 weeks in advance to ensure availability and allow time for planning. These sessions are designed for babies who can confidently sit unsupported but are not yet walking — typically around 6–9 months.

Booking early allows us to plan styling, colours, and how your finished portraits will be displayed in your home.

Where does the session take place?

All sitter sessions take place at my home-based studio in Hayes, UB3 2TH — a warm, calm space designed with babies and parents in mind.

The studio is fully set up for sitter sessions, allowing you to relax, watch the session unfold, and enjoy a comfortable, unhurried experience.

How long does a session last?

Sitter sessions usually last between 1–2 hours.

At this age, babies can quickly become tired or fed up if sessions go on for too long, so everything is planned to make the most of their happy, alert moments. The session moves at your baby’s pace, with time for cuddles, feeding if needed, and short breaks — without pushing them beyond what feels comfortable.

What should we bring to the session?

Once booked, you’ll receive a Sitter Session Guide that walks you through the full experience, what to expect in the studio, and includes a simple checklist of what to bring.

I recommend preparing everything in advance so the session day feels calm and enjoyable for both you and your baby.

What should my baby wear?

I have a small studio wardrobe of soft white and beige outfits that photograph beautifully and suit my clean, timeless style.

Families are also very welcome to bring their own outfits, especially if you’d like your portraits to complement your home décor. If I don’t have something suitable in the studio wardrobe, this will be discussed and planned during our initial telephone consultation so everything feels cohesive and intentional.

What happens after the photoshoot?

Following your sitter session, we’ll schedule a viewing appointment so you can see all your portraits from the comfort of your own home.

At your appointed time, I’ll call you and email a link to your online gallery. We’ll watch a slideshow of your final images set to music — I challenge you not to shed a tear! Once you’re happy, you’ll confirm which package you’d like and make payment.

Orders typically take 1–4 weeks to be professionally produced. When everything arrives, I’ll send you a text to arrange a convenient date and time for you to collect your finished artwork and images.
